I will admit freely that I wanted to go on a Rhine River Cruise for one very specific reason. I had heard about something called “Castle Day”. I was hooked right there. Picton is the northernmost town on the South Island in New Zealand. Known as the gateway to the Marlborough Sounds, Picton has much to offer in the way of adventure and sea life. The Marlborough Sounds is a network of four distinct sounds and according to Maori legend, the sounds are .the sunken prows of the wakas (canoe style boats) of the Aoraki.
