Safest Places in the World to Visit (Part Two)
Published Wednesday, July 11th 2018 - Updated Tuesday, August 7th 2018Part two of our safest countries to visit list! In case you missed part one, you can read it here! The Institute of Economics and Peace has released their top 10 most peaceful countries of the world and I maintain that these are the countries you should try to visit this year!
#6 Canada: Our friendly neighbor to the north sometimes gets overlooked when researching vacation options. We just recently returned from an expedition cruise that covered the Easternmost parts of Canada. The trip was eyeopening and helped me to see why Canada made this list. Even in areas where French was the dominant language, we felt welcome and safe. I had no problems roaming the streets in areas that I was not familiar. In fact, we sought refuge from the rain in the tourist information office in Halifax. We enjoyed a pleasant conversation and laughed at the puddles of water we were leaving on their floor. I can say we have had the same experience on the west coast of Canada as well not to mention that the dollar is strong there! Pictured to the left are lobster boats on Prince Edward Island. #7 Czech Republic: Another country that I have been blessed to visit! We spent time in and around Prague and loved every second of it. Even when we had jet lag and roamed the city streets with the street sweepers, we always felt safe and the old town of Prague was to die for beautiful! Venturing out into the countryside was also a wonderful experience. We had the pleasure of a local guide who shared some of her experiences and it brought such depth to our visit. I would go back in a heartbeat! Pictured to the right is the tower at the end of Charles Bridge in Prague. Photo Credit: Jana Lindsay - Cruise Planners - LindsayTravelProfessionals.com
#8 Singapore: I have not personally been to Singapore; however, my husband has. Singapore has had quite the rise. It jumped from its #27 spot from 2017 to #8 in 2018. This is a direct result of its low crime and very low international conflict ratings. This is one of the cleanest cities you will ever visit as well.
#9 Japan: Japan is trying to increase the number of visitors to its shores by making it easy for visitors to get around. They have high speed as well as invisible trains that make getting around a bit easier. Again, this is a country that I have not visited but my husband has. With lots to see and do this country makes visiting well worth your time and you can rest easy to boot!
#10 Ireland: I have to admit I thought Ireland would be a little higher on the list; however, it does have some issues with terrorism thought minor. This stunningly beautiful island is definitely on my bucket list. The hardest part is deciding which places to see. So much to do and see on the Emerald Island.
