Travel Bucket List
Published Monday, January 23rd 2017 - Updated Wednesday, January 25th 2017It’s a new year and with it comes the desire to improve upon the past by making changes in the present. I can’t think of a better time to set travel goals as well. After all, if you fail to plan you plan to fail! So I thought I would share with you my top 10 non-cruise vacations that are on my personal bucket list!
#10: Pompeii – I’ve been intrigued by this place ever since school when I first learned about it. I am fascinated by the excavation of this city that was entombed by a volcano. I want to see the molds they made and how much of the city survived being buried by the ash.
#9: Spain – My son spent two years in and around the Barcelona area and I would love to walk in his footsteps! I would really love to have him be my tour guide as well.
#8: Russia – I can actually cross this one off the list as completed since I did get to tour Saint Petersburg and Moscow. Loved it and best of all, our tour guide was our son and he spoke the language!
#7: Hawaii (the big island) – I have had the privilege of being on Oahu, Kauai, and Maui but have yet to make it to the big island! I want to go when the volcano is erupting and I want to see the lava hit the sea!
#6: The British Isles – With a name like Lindsay, you just have to see Scotland. If I’m going that far I want to see Britain as well as Ireland too! I mean, come on! Besides, Clan Lindsay totally rocks!
#5: Venice – How could you not want to see a city that uses water as its main travel ways! Not to mention the beautiful buildings with that great architecture.
#4: Machu Picchu – This place has held my interest for so long. An entire civilization on the tops of the mountains that just seemed to vanish, I just have to see this!
#3: Australia – I should probably combine this with New Zealand but they are both so fascinating that I am keeping them separate.
#2: New Zealand – Who doesn’t want to see the land of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings? This fascinating country has it all from Mountains, Islands, Beaches, Forests, and Fjords. Oh my!
#1: Tahiti – With an over-the-water bungalow! (Mic drop!)
Part of my job as a travel agent and owning our own travel agency is learning about all these wonderful destinations. The hardest part is keeping the list to just ten! There are so many wonderful and intriguing places in this world. I want to see them all!
