They call me the Ziploc Queen.  I know, as a travel agent, you would think I would have a more sophisticated packing tip, but I like handy things that I can use all the time and not just on vacation.  I have mentioned briefly in a few of my other blogs my use of Ziploc bags but thought it would be helpful to go into more detail.

Liquids:  Anything that is a liquid (sunscreen, hair products, lotions, and ointments) go in a Ziploc bag.  Believe it or not, I have had my non aerosol hairspray leak all over my suitcase before.  It does ruin dark clothing so I made that mistake only once.

Cords:  We all have multiple electronic devices these days.  It seems to me that they all have different charging cords, a fact that drives me a little crazy.  So to keep them from getting tangled (another pet peeve) or worse, lost, I put them in Ziploc bags.  The only time I have ever lost a cord or a charger was when I took it out of its bag and didn’t return it.  Lost it somewhere in the security check area of the airport.

Jewelry:  I love the small snack sized bags for putting my jewelry in.  I have a compartment within my cosmetic bag that I use for jewelry but by placing individual pieces in Ziploc bags it keeps them from getting separated from its mate and keeps them from tangling.

Snacks:  I know there is more food than you could ever possibly want on a cruise ships and at all-inclusive resorts, but sometime, like at the airport, you just want to carry something to tide you over.  I always carry extra Ziploc bags with granola bars or fruit in them to help stop me from making terrible choices at the airport or on shore excursions.

Swimsuits:  Have you ever been on vacation and discovered that your suit is not dry and you have to pack?  I have.  I hate it.  I always take along extra bags to carry wet or damp clothing in for the return trip.  That way my entire suitcase doesn’t get damp and musty.

Purse:  I actually carry all of my lip glosses, lip balm, and lotions in a Ziploc bag to keep them together and organized.  I also keep my headphones in Ziplocs to keep them from getting lost in my purse or worse, tangled.

They aren’t pretty but they sure are functional!  I use them for so many other things in my life.  These are just a few of the ways I use them while on vacation.  Do you have a favorite way to pack?
