Zip-Lining in Puerto Vallarta
Published Thursday, September 29th 2016 - Updated Thursday, January 12th 2017I’m a wimp. I’m one of those; the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, sort of people. But as a travel agent, you kind of have to be up for anything. After all, how can you be a travel expert if you are afraid of new things? So when the opportunity to go zip-lining in Puerto Vallarta came up (something I have always wanted to do) I jumped at the chance. Did I mention I’m a wimp? It was all fun and games until they actually put the harness on me. It suddenly became very real and very scary. The entire team at Canopy Tours de Los Veranos was a dream to work with. Upon discovering my nervousness they set out to put me at ease. The first thing they did was secure me with a second harness to help me feel a little more supported and secure. Once everyone had been fitted with a harness, the team put on the most fun filled, energetic, and comical safety and procedure review I have ever seen!
The second thing they did was to earn my trust. Yes, they were funny, yes, they were energetic, and yes, they were comical; but when it came to doing their job, they were experts. After a couple of zip-lines I was giggling and laughing and having the time of my life. For those who have never been zip-lining, the first couple of lines (at least in this case) are short and fairly slow. It gives you time to adjust to what you need to do and get a feel for what is coming. The lines got progressively steeper and longer but that just made it more fun! At this zip-line the final line was set up so that you could race if you wanted to. To answer the inevitable question, yes, I did race and yes, I won!
If you ever find yourself in Puerto Vallarta, and you feel the need to go zip-lining go to see the crew at Canopy Tours de Los Veranos. They will take very good care of you and you will have a wonderful time! If you are more advanced or just more daring than I, they will help you zip-line backward, upside down, and spinning! They take pictures for you as well as video.
