Let’s face it, we all have a wide variety of electronics that we take with us everywhere.  With those electronics comes the need to recharge batteries.  As travel agents, it is imperative that we have plenty of outlets to recharge those batteries because we tend to take our work with us…well, everywhere!  What do we take with us to make sure we have everything we need?

The handiest item is an extra power strip.  This comes in handy in those hotel rooms that haven’t quite caught up to the electronic age.  You know the ones I’m talking about.  You search the room over and can only find one outlet back behind the desk and it is already full from the lamp and the television.  The power strip gives you more outlets and takes up very little room.  They have ones with a very short cord making them even easier to pack.

I also like the USB charging stations.  These are small, compact, and very convenient.  Usually, they will have a variety of ports for different devices.  Some of the ports are for quick charging batteries saving time and making the most of your outlets.  I received one as a gift and to quite honest I wasn’t sold right away.  But after the first trip, I was sold!  Loved that thing.  Lost it while going through security at an airport when I took it out of its bag during the rush to get to our gate.  I miss that charging station and am currently shopping for a new one!  I highly recommend these.

Ethernet cables.  Most hotel rooms and cruise line cabins will be hardwired for internet service.  Plugging in is not as convenient as wireless, but sometimes it works a lot better.  Not to mention, if you have downloaded movies you can broadcast them to the television making it more convenient for the family to gather around and watch together.  Just make sure you are mindful of limitations if any that the hotel/cruise line has on minutes and usage.  Sometimes it's really nice to stay in and watch a movie in bed!
