Secrets Capri, Cancun, Mexico

Touring properties and resorts is one of the duties and privileges of being a travel agent.  During our recent trip to Cancun, Mexico, we had the opportunity to tour the Secrets Capri resort.  This is one of the smaller resorts that we toured and visited during our stay.  For that reason, I liked the resort a great deal.  It has a smaller more intimate feel to it and the clientele seemed to be more active and friendly.  The grounds and resort have a Mediterranean feel with brightly colored buildings and lots of palm trees.  The main pool area is definitely the center of the activities.

 

The main lobby and common areas are beautifully designed and feel fresh and open.  The one drawback is the guest rooms.  I feel that are a bit outdated and in need of a refreshment to their look.  The rooms are very well kept and the layout is great; however, the color scheme is outdated and feels old.  I admit that I am a bit spoiled and a snob when it comes to design.  You may find them very much to your liking.  I did not.

 

This would be a great place for a small, intimate wedding party.  There are several places on the grounds that are designed with that in mind and really do offer a great option for an outdoor destination wedding.  Of course, they have a beach location and it has plenty of white sand and blue water to enjoy, but they also have a really charming gazebo that would be a wonderful location for a wedding. 

 

If you like the Secrets brand but would like a little more price friendly option, Secrets Capri is a good fit.  If you are wanting a guest room with a luxury feel above all else, then it might not be a good fit for you.  Overall, I like the resort and would recommend it to the client who isn’t overly concerned about the room.  I am not a fan of large overly crowded resorts.  The resort still has the wonderful service and amenities that come with the Secrets name and brand.
