San Diego Safari Park - Agency Trip with Photos

There are zoos and then there is the San Diego Safari Park.  This place is amazing!  If you get the chance to go to San Diego, this is a must see.  One word of caution, because it is located further inland, it gets very hot during the summer.  Plan to stay for a while.  We were there for 4 hours and it felt like we only scratched the surface.  Truly a gem of a place.  Here are a few of our favorite photos.

 

You have to see these gentle giants.  They are so fun to watch.  We happened to catch them while they were having a snack.  

 

 

This beautiful creature was facinating to watch.  We had the pleasure of watching a demonstration where they worked with the tiger.  While practicing commands they were also clipping its nails and inspecting him for health purposes.  All done while he was following hand commands and getting rewarded with fun things like meat balls and goats milk.

Who doesn't like a cute kangaroo?  This guy will have a perminant exhibit in the near future.  Safari Park is building an Australia exhibit.  Look for its opening.

 

 

Did you know that gorillas like corn on the cob?  Neither did I!  Just a little snack before nap time.
