Planning The Perfect Spring Break Vacation
Published Monday, January 22nd 2018Spring break is just around the corner and it’s not too late to get a memorable family vacation planned. However, planning the perfect family vacation for spring break can be a daunting experience. In light of that, we have put together a simple list of dos and don’ts. These simple suggestions can save you some time, money, and headache.
The Dos:
· When starting your search for the perfect vacation spot, be sure to consider multiple destinations. This allows you to weigh the best options for the price. Airfare alone can vary from place to place enough to either make or break your budget.
· Try to pick a place or destination that the entire family will enjoy. This will require some compromises by the entire family, but it will ensure that all family members will enjoy their spring break.
· Once you decide on the best destination, let each member of the family choose an activity. Each activity may not be everyone’s cup of tea but each family member will get to do something they want to do.
· Consider thinking outside the box a little bit. Initially, a cruise or an All-Inclusive resort might appear to be more expensive, but when you look at everything that is included, you might find them to be the better deal overall.
The Don’ts:
· Whatever you do, do not return to a place that was just okay. Why waste your time and valuable dollars on something that wasn’t memorable? If you didn’t love it, don’t return to it. There are just too many options out there to be satisfied with “okay”.
· Don’t book until you have had the chance to shop around. Check out a variety of options and be sure you are comparing apples to apples. That Costco deal might seem like the perfect price but what are you really getting? Be sure you know, and compare equal options.
· Don’t forget to check for Condos or other housing options. You don’t have to be stuck in a hotel room. Check for other available options in your desired location.
· Don’t over pack. My golden rule is always to be prepared but you can take packing too far. With airlines issuing hefty fees for overweight bags you don’t want to commit the sin of over packing. Take what you need and be sure to be prepared but think things through. Often times by packing outfits and can be mixed and matched you can reduce the overall amount that needs to be packed. Plan carefully and wisely.
Better yet, turn the whole project over to your favorite travel agent. What? You don’t have one? Well, then, contact us and we can put together a spring break that is sure to please you and your family.
