During a recent trip to Cancun, Mexico, we had the wonderful opportunity to tour the Excellence Riviera.  This beautiful resort is located on the beautiful Riviera south of Cancun with gorgeous water views and a stunning beach.  With most resorts in the Cancun area that are located on the beach, you have that wonderful white sand and of course the beautiful Caribbean blue water.  If you don’t have the good fortune to have an ocean view room, the jungle view rooms are equally appealing.

 

I enjoyed this resort immensely.  This is a larger resort; however, the resort is laid out in such a way that it doesn’t feel overwhelming.  One of the features I love the most in this resort is the number of sculptures placed around the resort.  The mix of fountains and sculptures lends to an elegant feel without being stuffy.  They weave their Mayan ancestry beautifully into the landscape of the resort.  I enjoy little touches like this.  By pulling in their history it helps to tell the story of the region and their heritage.  I always like to learn about the area I am traveling in.  It is a part of travel that I enjoy.

 

The main building in this resort houses multiple places to dine.  Each restaurant has its own personality and of course its own cuisine.  Located around the pool area are several more relaxed places to eat.  One such place is essentially built on the water.  I would love to spend a relaxed afternoon enjoying a nice bite to eat surrounded by the water and beautiful views.

 

If you are looking for a destination wedding location, this is a wonderful option.  They have several locations around the resort that would accommodate a wedding in stunning fashion.  In addition to a beach option, they have a gazebo that would make a beautiful wedding location as well.
