November 2021 Newsletter
Published Wednesday, December 1st 2021
Greetings! and Happy Thanksgiving! We hope this finds you doing well. It has been a while since our last newsletter and for that we apologize. Jana had a health crisis (not COVID-19 related) and it has taken longer than anticipated to get back up and running on all cylinders. She is doing well and working to regain her strength and stamina just in time to celebrate the Holidays. We hope this holiday season finds you doing well and able to spend time with your friends and loved ones.
What’s New: We are starting a new segment in our newsletters designed to answer your questions! In this segment, we hope to be able to interact with you on a more personal level by answering questions submitted by you, valued members of our travel family. Whenever you have a question that you would love an answer to, just drop us a line and we will send a response. We’ll include one or two of the most relevant questions in our next newsletter.
Your Questions Answered: “Is cruising back?” The simple answer is yes! The more complex answer is yes, but . . . Cruise lines have been working tirelessly with the CDC to get back on the water safely and responsibly. Most cruise lines are requiring that their crew members and passengers be fully vaccinated. There are options to request an exception to that, but you would have to make that request early. The process does take time. All cruise lines have been going out of their way to update their procedures to make cruising safer than it has ever been. They have also used the suspension of cruising to update their ships and technology. There are a variety of new procedures and each cruise line has updated its app. If you are fully vaccinated and ready to travel, now is a wonderful time to cruise. Most cruise lines are not sailing at full capacity at this time. Please be aware that all cruise lines anticipate having their full fleet in service by early 2022 and hope to be sailing at full capacity shortly thereafter.
Did You Know: There are some wonderful land options for those who want to travel but not necessarily prove vaccination. There are all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean that do not require quarantine or vaccinations. They also provide the testing required by the United States to return to the country as part of their all-inclusive services. We took the opportunity to attend a conference in Mexico and experienced the testing procedures ourselves. Most resorts require masks indoors in public areas. Once outside, you are free to remove your mask and enjoy the great outdoors. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this option for travelers not wishing to vaccinate. The rest of the world continues to ride the same roller coaster that we are on. Countries that were once open are now closed or requiring quarantines and the list seems to change daily. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
