Greetings!  It has been a while since our last newsletter update.  We sincerely hope that this finds you happy, healthy, and safe!  It has been a long year full of struggles and disappointments for everyone but we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.  We hope that you can see it, too.  Not sure about you but the longer days, the warmth of the sun, and the promise of spring just around the corner are helping to spark the imagination and soothe the soul.

First the good news, travel is starting to come back to life and we are so happy!  There are not a lot of opportunities to travel right now but there are some options.  Hawaii has opened its doors again as long as you provide a negative COVID-19 test.  Parts of the Caribbean and Mexico are also open.  Just keep in mind that when you travel internationally, you will be required by the US government to provide a negative COVID-19 test before you board your return flight.  Many resorts in Mexico are offering those tests on-site and some are evening offering to let you quarantine for free should that become necessary.

Much of Europe still have their borders closed.  The EU has stated that they are allowing travel throughout the EU only to countries in the EU until July 1st.  They have a list of 15 countries that they will then open their doors to.  Unfortunately, the US is not one of those countries.  The EU will be evaluating its list of approved countries every two weeks.  Who knows, maybe we can make the list soon!  2022 Europe bookings and cruises are filling up much faster than normal.

As of today, most cruises have been canceled through the end of May, many through June 30, and some into the summer months.  It has been a year since the cruise industry suspended operations here in the US.  Here, too, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Cruise lines are communicating regularly and awaiting further technical instructions and approvals from the CDC for sailings from US ports.  Several cruise lines have already started sailing from international ports such as Singapore and Israel with passengers from those countries and proof of vaccination.

Some of the smaller luxury ship cruise lines e.g. Windstar and Crystal have put plans in place to sail from Caribbean ports in the Bahamas and Barbados starting in June and July.  With continued successful cruises, we can start anticipating a start date for the return to cruises from US ports.  Although there is no end date on the mandatory negative COVID-19 test to return to the US from a foreign country, it is hoped that as more and more citizens get the vaccine, this requirement will be dropped.

While Europe and most international travel other than Mexico and the Caribbean is still very uncertain for the next several months If you are considering a vacation in 2022 it is not too early, in fact we encourage you to contact us now to start planning and to get the best availability and pricing.
