Can travel help your love life?  According to a recent survey, the answer is yes!  Travelocity recently conducted a survey of singles and the vast majority of them answered that they would prefer to date someone who loves to travel!  Although more women than men use it as criteria for someone they would want to date, both male and female stated they would rather date someone who loves to travel.  Why?  That response was particularly interesting to me.  According to the survey, those who love to travel are considered to be more sophisticated and adventurous.   They also stated that it made the prospect more well rounded and someone they would want to get to know.

 

But it doesn’t stop there.  I have found from personal experience that travel can bring out the romantic in all of us.  Especially if it is a couple’s getaway from the hectic demands of modern parenthood.  Some of our best times have been when we were traveling without the demands of being parents at the same time.  While, we fully embrace family travel and we did plenty of that, there is something to be said about spending time together exploring the world.  There is something about shared experiences and spending time together that deepens the bonds the tie us together.

 

Travel styles vary greatly and whether you are married or single understanding you travel style and that of your companion is vital.  If you like to sit on the beach and read a good book and your companion likes to explore and seek out adventure, chances are you will not be happy travel companions.  So, what is the solution?  Find a way to combine your travel styles so that both can find what they are looking for.  Just like regular life, travel consists of bringing out the best of both parties and finding a path that all can enjoy.
