The World Health Organization has declared the virus a pandemic. We are also aware of the travel ban President Trump recently announced suspending all travel from Europe to the U.S. in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We understand the need for and support the precautions being taken worldwide. We wanted to clarify some statements as there has been some confusion.

Clarifying the European Travel Ban announced on 3/11/2020:

  • During the President’s address last night, the specifics on the European travel ban were not clear. To clarify, travel restrictions apply only to most foreign nationals who have been in the Schengen Area at any point in the last 14 days. However, international travel in the next 30 days is being discouraged.

Several cruise lines have issued special cancellation policies that provide freedom to cancel up to 48-hours prior to the departure date and we are working with clients to postpone their trips to another future date.  Please note:  Each cruise line’s temporary cancellation policy is different. Please contact me if you have a departure coming up soon, and I can advise you of your options and work with you to postpone your trip.

For trips booked to depart in the summer and fall, we have plenty of time to review options and see how this unfolds globally.  We ask that you take a “wait and see” approach if you are not currently within final payment or under any financial penalties if you cancel.  Of course, we don’t have a crystal ball, but our hopes are that the U.S. and the rest of the world will be able to contain and combat the virus and we can all return to life as usual.

The health, well-being and safety of our entire travel community has always been, and always will be our top priority. Rest assured, we will do everything in our power to support you during this challenging time. Please take comfort in knowing, this too shall pass, and we are working with you.

Given the severity of the situation, we’re continuing to monitor CDC and WHO developments in order to share the most up-to-date information with you. Below are links to resources that we recommend you stay up to date with as this situation unfolds.
