We have booked many Hawaii trips for our clients and we foresee that it will continue to be a popular travel destination. One of the biggest hurdles to travel to Hawaii is the cost of airfare. Especially if you want to travel during the popular times, you know, like during breaks from school. During those popular times, the cost of flights can double and then some. I am always encouraging clients to go during the “off-season” to help them get more from their travel dollar.
What would you say to the news that the cost of flying to Hawaii could be coming down and in the not-so-distant future? Well, prepare yourself, because the cost of flying to Hawaii from a west coast hub is about to go down. As early as this year, Southwest Airlines will be making regularly scheduled flights to Hawaii. That’s the good news. The great news is that the presence of Southwest Airlines in the Hawaii flight market is likely to drive down the prices of all flights to Hawaii! There is some expectation that Southwest Airlines will be making the announcement of their flight schedule to Hawaii on February 15th. Not quite in time for Valentine’s Day but close enough for the romantic in all of us to have our hearts go pitter patter!
