We are finishing up the 10 things you should always pack to save money on your next vacation with the last five must-haves.  If you want more packing tips and tricks in addition to the ones we are suggesting here, be sure to visit our website and read some of the other blogs dedicated to all things travel!

Compression Bags:  As long as you stay under the airline's luggage weight limit, it’s nice to be able to stuff everything into one bag.  These compression bags can really help save room in your bag.  Another not so obvious benefit of these bags is it keeps your clothes safe from inadvertent spills in your bag.  I don’t recommend using the ones that require a vacuum, but rather the ones that can be rolled to expel the excess air.

E-Readers:  I love to read.  Sometimes I consider it a vacation just to be able to sit and read a good book.  I also love real books.  There is something very satisfying about turning the pages and being able to see how much of the book is left just by seeing how many pages are left; however, carrying books on vacation can not only take up a lot of space but they add a lot of weight to your luggage as well.  E-readers make it possible to carry a virtual library with you and take up almost no space at all.

Laundry Supplies:  Even if you can pack enough for your entire vacation in one bag, one simple spill can put a kink in your entire wardrobe.  Or worse, yet, one loose lid on a moisturizer bottle can ruin the entire bag of clothes.  Carrying laundry supplies is not always easy.  I have fallen in love with the Tide Stain Pens.  They are small, portable, and work great for small spills or mishaps.  But what if you need more than just a small job?  They now have laundry sheets.  Yes, laundry detergent in the form of a small sheet.  They dissolve in water and since they are not liquid, they are TSA compliant.  Score!

Empty Water Bottle:  I know most people already know this trick.  Take an empty water bottle and once you are through security, stop by the drinking fountain and fill it up with fresh water.  But, did you know that they make squishy ones that you can roll up?  I love this idea!  Now you can have your water and save space too!

Hand sanitizer:  I am not a germaphobe, but there is nothing worse than getting sick and having to visit a doctor on vacation.  Use caution when traveling and use hand sanitizer to keep yourself healthy.  A few simple precautions like hand sanitizer and staying hydrated can go a long way to keeping you in all the action instead of on the sidelines.
