Kutna Hora - Europe Trip and Pictures
Published Wednesday, March 18th 2020While in Prague, we made a side trip to a smaller city called Kutna Hora. Besides the beautiful Cathedral, Kutna Hora has a Bone Ossuary. At first it was a little bit creepy but once you learn the story it becomes a little less so. The Cathedral has an interesting story as well. It was orignally designed to be much larger; however, finances and time became such an issue that the town opted to make the Cathedral smaller. Still impressive. Here are a few of our favorite photos from Kutna Hora.
This is the newest end of the Cathedral. Intended to extend out further the town gave up and stopped building. They erected this end wall to finish the project. Inside you can tell just a little bit that it was intended to extend further. Still a remarkable building.
The bone ossuary. It takes a few minutes to get used to everything being made out of bones but once you do, you can enjoy the creativity.
The Cathedral and the Monestary together make an impressive sight.
