Australia by Train - Review
Published Thursday, May 30th 2019If you are looking for an opportunity to see more than just the coast of Australia and get into the Outback, you should seriously consider taking the Indian Pacific Railroad. This unique and fun experience gets you away from the urban centers and into the outback in style and comfort. Picture yourself cruising along the tracks watching the beautiful scenery and wildlife pass by all while your needs are taken care of effortlessly.
Think of the Indian Pacific Railroad as a cruise on land. Your accommodations, meals, drinks, and activities are all included in the price of your fare. Just remember, this is a train and space is limited but they make great use of the space they do have. There are two classes of service and you won’t be disappointed in either. I had the luxury of having a single cabin to myself. The accommodations are small but the space is wisely used and comfortable. The bathrooms are shared with the other members of car; however, there is a sink with running hot and cold water in your room. The showers in the shared bathrooms are large and spacious.
Each car has their own beverage station where you can get coffee, tea, or hot chocolate any time you like. There is also a place to refill your water bottle with nice cold water. You will find a lounge and a dining cars easily accessible. The lounge is a wonderful place to socialize while watching the beautiful outback go by. The drinks are included in your fare and they serve a nice variety of non alcoholic drinks if you prefer. The food is very good and can rival any restaurant in quality. Service is friendly and prompt. Your car attendant will schedule a wake up call at your convenience and will bring you a nice hot cup of coffee or tea prepared just the way you like it. They brought me a wonderful cup of hot lemon water because I didn't want coffee or tea.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on the Indian Pacific and am plotting how to get back and do a longer trip! If you are planning a trip to Australia, you need to consider a trip on the Indian Pacific Railroad or contact us, your Australia and New Zealand Specialists, for your perfect trip!
